This is a gathering place for Dobyns Bennett High School Class of 1960... We continue to gather once a month at O'Charley's Restaurant on Eastman Road Kingsport Tn, around 20 or more each month. It is really neat that after all these years, we continue to build on our friendships and love to gather together! If you graduated with us, a year or two before us or after us, we would love to see you! I'm sure we would have a lot to talk about! Please consider joining us for First Friday!!

many of you probably subscribe to jeff fleming's newsletter. if not, you will enjoy this eulogy by graham clark about tom coughenour.

it is so well done, and it brings back so many fond memories of tom.

sometime take thirty minutes to listen to it. i've never met graham clark, but i thought he did a fantastic job. there are three parts: the third part is the eulogy.

Bob Reagan

Tom Coughenour was a legendary track coach at Dobyns-Bennett High School. Graham Clark, D-B football coach, and longtime friend, delivered a humorous, yet moving eulogy about a man who touched the lives of thousands of Kingsport student athletes during his career.

Eddie Burchfield, a Treasure to the Treasure Coast

I'm so glad I found this site... I "googled" Eddie Burchfield, and there it was... a TRIBUTE to our
Eddie, on WPSL radio station site. It gives me shivers. This is a guy who didn't get back for very
many of our reunions, but always seemed to try! I'm sorry we didn't know about his illness soon
enough to send cards and letters of support. I would like to send a card, and I'll bring one to our First Friday July 3rd lunch. And wait till you see the two pictures! God bless us everyone! BC

First Friday June 5th 2009

Well, wonder of wonders! I went to the First Friday lunchat O'Charley's on Eastman Road today half expecting that no one would be there... except me and Sue!!! Was I ever surprised!! Hooray! This was the best turnout I've ever been to... thank you guys! You're my heroes!!! We had a great visit. Sue talked about our next meeting, the week of July 20th, more to follow on that. Everyone turned in their information sheets. We had a delicious lunch as usual. I believe the count was 24... Linda Bernell Harris Crussell, who has never come before but came as a favor for Janrose Dotson Gilliam, Nancy Ellis Baldree, Margaret Ketron Colley, Jane Beck Harris, Chris McConnell Barker, Doris Cox, Margaret Bray Slemp, Cris and Theona Moorehouse, Sue Shaulis Thomas, Frankie Sullins Lucas (back for a second time), Carolyn Rice Cameron, Sandy Kaylor Ekren, Sondra Dotson Bridwell, Marlene Snyder McConnell, Martha Allen, Kathy Morse Parham, Linda Lamberth Robinson, Carol and Doug Killian, Pat Thompson Donaldson and husband Jim and myself. Ooops... I think I have forgotten someone... I was sure there were 24!! Please forgive me if I forgot YOU! :)

Looks like too many people will be away / not able to come to Doug and Carol's on the 20th, so we will re-schedule for sometime in September. Maybe less rushed, etc.

I still haven't figured out how to get the pictures from LAST year's visit to the Killians. There are some good pictures in there, so I won't stop until I have them uploaded!!

God bless us everyone!!
