I can't believe I've been away from this site for so long... but I have been writing at the new Dobyns Bennett High School Class of 1960 50th Reunion FACEBOOK site. So I will probably not be writing any new posts here after today. I think I can cover everything with the google group

We had an amazing turnout at Friday's lunch at O'Charley's ... even with the snow! Marlene Snyder McConnell and husband R.V, Diana Woodard Agett and husband Andy, Ben and Jane Beck Harris, Cris and Theona Moorehouse, Sondra Dotson Bridwell and myself! Yummmm, it was good! The snow wasn't too bad, the crews have worked very hard to clear them, so it was relatively clear from here to Eastman Road! God bless us everyone! BC

William P. Haynes funeral (George Hayne's father)

Sue Shaulis Thomas, Marlene Snyder McConnell, Vivian Eversole Brown and I were able to be at the First Presbyterian Church today... they attended Mr. Haynes' funeral, and I came later so we could all visit with George afterwards. It was very beautiful, and George's daughter gave a wonderful eulogy - really about all 4 of her grandparents - and everyone was impressed. George
looked good, and he appreciated that we came. God bless us everyone!

First Friday, September 4th 2009

Wow... I can hardly believe it is Football Time in Tennessee!!! We will be gathering once again
at O'Charley's on Eastman Road in Kingsport for our First Friday, 12:30 p.m. We have a great time!!! Surely hope you can be there. I especially love the Salmon plate on the Lunch Menu...
it is really good! I'm sorry I can't be there with you this Friday, but I'll be in Fredericksburg VA to see my 6'5" 225 lbs. grandson play tight end for Riverbend High School. I am excited... and I am scared! God bless us everyone!

First Friday August 7,2009

We had another great turnout!! Sue Shaulis Thomas, Bernell Harris Crussell, Janrose Dotson Gilliam, Nancy Ellis Baldree, David Plott, Margaret Ketron Colley, Doris Cox, Martha Allen, Fred Begley, Don Wright from 1961, Sarah Sims Housley (from Lynchburg), Linda L. Robinson, Ben Hunter, Jane Beck Harris, Kathy Morse Parham, Carol Leeper Killian, Doug Killian, Sharon Deatherage Fults and me... We had a great visit, there was no reunion business to take care of... but we are planning another gathering at the Killians. Tommy always called it "Shangrila". We will meet at McDonalds at Allandale Marketplace on West Stone Drive, Sept. 19th at 1:30 p.m. and drive down to the Killians. There will be a $7.50 charge for the catered barbecue dinner... and if we want to bring desserts to share, we can do that. I guarantee you'll love it, if you haven't already been. Lots of room to stroll around, trees that offer wonderful shade... and Doug and Carol are great hosts!! Everyone wanted to meet First Friday of September as well, and that will be September 4th.
